The exhibition “Stories of Toys. From the Benaki Museum Collection” presents a selection of toys from the Benaki Museum collections, exploring the evolution of children’s play from antiquity to the present day. The exhibition space has been designed as a “paper theatre of memory”, where visitors explore four thematic sections: the first toys of infancy, the “transformations” of everyday objects, role-playing and imitation games, and construction/strategy games.
The exhibition is hosted at Sanidravan, an Ottoman monument in the city of Drama (15th century), which was restored by Raycap. In collaboration with the Benaki Museum, the venue has hosted temporary exhibitions and activities open to the public since 2022.
