Emilios Theochari Kalaitzidis Public Benefit Foundation

The Foundation was established through the initiative and sponsorship of Emilios Theochari Kalaitzidis, a native of Kallifytos.

Its objectives include:

The intellectual, artistic and cultural development of the community, the promotion of solidarity and mutual support, the encouragement of gender equality, and the strengthening of social and friendly relations among the residents of Kallifytos and Drama, as well as people from Kallifytos living in other parts of Greece and abroad.

• The collection, study and preservation of the cultural, intellectual, historical, folklore and linguistic heritage of the local community of Kallifytos.

• Active support for every initiative related to the promotion, enhancement, tourism development and sustainable use of the local community of Kallifytos.

The Foundation building is located in the community of Kallifytos, Municipality of Drama. It includes a 252-seat theatre, two multi-purpose rooms for music lessons, choir rehearsals and painting classes, an art gallery/exhibition space displaying items from the founder’s collection, a well-stocked library, a reception area and a café.

The Foundation was officially inaugurated on 26 June 2016.
